Who am I?

What an absurd question.

I could say a million different things.

But if I told you the truth would you believe me?

I am a girl from a broken home,

I want to love but do not know how.

I am a teenager how doesn’t live up to the ideal beauty standards.

I am confused.

If I told the truth I would not even think it was true.

I hold a million truths but,

I also have a millions different lies.

I am happy.

I am lost.

I am loved.

I have trust issues.

Truly I can not answer your question.

It would just be silly.

I am still figuring out who I am.

So to answer your question,

I am a confused girl trying to find her way through this maze called life.

I have my own battles day to day in my mind.

I cry silently at night so no one can here me.

I am the happy-go-lucky friend.

I am the girl who’s mind has been morphed by so many different thoughts even she does not know what to believe anymore.

I hope by this poem helped you know me a little bit better!

Now for my blog.

The name is Dormiveglia and it means “the space that stretches between sleeping and waking”, I just really like that word because I feel I am constantly in that state of mind. My URL is still paper-hearts because I didn’t want to create a new blog. I picked that for my URL because I thought it was cute and clever. Looking back I wish I picked a different word or phrase for my URL. I would make a new blog but also wanted to keep all my old work in the same place. For my blog picture it is a field of sunflowers. I love sunflowers and they are my favorite flower. The brightness they bring with their yellow color makes me happy just by looking at it. My writing style is mostly sad stories and poems. Last year I did not like writing poetry and would avoid it at all costs. After I wrote Boys will be Boys my eyes opened and realized that poetry is actually so much fun. I also like writing sad stories because I feel it makes me feel better about my own problems that I can not solve. My feed consists of black and white photos to help the sunflowers pop.

  1. Dear Cammie,
I really enjoyed this piece! I thought it was very clever and aesthetically pleasing to use two fonts! Some lines were really relatable and resonating! I appreciated that you were incredibly truthful in this piece and that you allowed yourself to be vulnerable! Amazing job!

One suggestion is to go through one time and check for any grammar mistakes. (i.e “I hope by this poem helped you know me a little bit better!”).

Overall this piece was terrific! I can’t wait to read more from you!

    Truly,
    Simran C.
