-bob and the boohag-

This story starts in a small town. There was a man named Bob, he lived on a farm. Bob was twenty-five and though it should be time to find a nice wife and settle down on his farm. One day after he finished his work he had to go to the grocery store and get something to make his dinner that night. When he went to the grocery store, he was looking for some tomatoes and when he looked up he saw the most beautiful girl in the world. She was tall, tan, had long brown hair and bright green eyes, and looking at the potatoes. He thought to himself, I need to marry this woman she is incredibly beautiful, so he went over and talked to her.

When Bob got over to Jenny he was so nervous. He went to check his phone to play it cool and he fumbled and dropped his wallet, phone, and cigarettes, on top that all his produce fell all over the ground. He was so embarrassed red started to fill his cheeks. Jenny is the perfect girl she helped him pick up his things and was giggling. Bob said, “Thank you, uhh what’s your name?”

“Jennifer but everyone calls me Jenny, What’s your na–”

“Bob, sorry my name is Bob. Would you like to go to dinner sometime?”

“Uhh..” Said Jenny very concerned and not sure how to answer because she just ran in this man. Bob realized that he just asked a girl he just found out what her name is out on a date. I know how to fix this. Gotta be smooth, Bob thought.

“Here just call if you’re interested, maybe we can go for dinner sometime.” Bob hands her a post-it note with his phone number on it. “Or you could just throw it away to, either way, it is your choice.” Jenny lets out a giggle and replies to him. “Why would I throw it away? I might just want that dinner.” Bob shrugged and proceeded to self-checkout.

When Bob got home he waited by his phone waiting for a call. After thirty minutes of just waiting by the phone jumping at any notification he gets. He went to take a shower and get ready for bed. As he got out of the shower drying his shaggy brown hair he got a call from an UNKNOWN number. Without thinking twice Bob grabs his phone and screams into it, “Hello?!!”

A woman’s voice comes from the other line, “Hey so where were you thinking for dinner?”

“Maybe Danny’s Diner?”

“Great! Meet me there at 6:45pm tomorrow!”

Bob doesn’t even have time to reply before the call goes dead. He celebrates and goes for a run because he has so much excitement bottled up.

The next day at 6:00pm Bob gets ready and heads off to the diner at 6:30pm he was o nervous his hands were shaking.

The dinner went well, they talked about so much and mad plans for a second date. When Bob walked Jenny to her doorstep, like the gentleman he is, he asked her to be his girlfriend. She said yes and kissed him on the cheek.

Eight months passed by and Jenny finally moved in with Bob. They were always seen together and always had smiles plastered on their faces.

Four months later Bob was thinking he was going to propose to Jenny. He went out to the mall and got the perfect ring. It was small and dainty but had a giant rock in the center. He was nervous that the whole day and could barely talk to Jenny. The night before he crafted the perfect plan for it to happen. He was going to take her on a drive, after that they will go to Danny’s diner and pop the question when they order the five chocolate cheesecake.

That night went as planned and there wedding was nine months from the proposal.

After the wedding, Jenny wanted a new house because the one Bob had was ratty and extremely old. So Bob did what his wife asked him to do. He had built a white three-storied house with an attic, pink window shutters and added a beautiful garden to the side of the house. Jenny was ecstatic with the house. Bob was just happy Jenny was happy.

One night Bob woke up to some noise going on outside of the room. He looked over to see if Jenny had woke up but she was gone. Bob was so scared. He went out of the bedroom and saw the attic door open and nobody goes up in the attic so he was very curious as to why it was open. So he went over to the door and peeked through the crack, in case there was a murder in the attic. But all he saw was Jenny. The things that happened next was terrifying. Bob watched as Jenny pulled a zipper from the top of her head to her bellybutton. She folded up her suit and put it by the window. She looked terrifying. Her skin was bloody and looks like she just got burned. She went up to the window and jumped out the window. Bob ran up to the window and saw Jenny running across the farmland going to god knows where. He thought he was having a bad dream and so he went back to bed.

When Bob woke up the next day he ran up to the attic. There were no bloody footprints like he saw the night before. Jenny went upstairs to ask Bob what was happening because she knew to sweat a lot. Bob said, “Nothing, just a bad realistic dream.”

The day went on normally but this time Bob couldn’t sleep and he waited to see if the same thing would happen. As the hours passed it was about 3:00am when Bob heard Jenny get up. He knew he had to follow her. He was frozen with fear. Until Bob heard she was upstairs he crept up the stairs care to not make them creak. He saw the exact same thing but saw her touch a drop of blue paint. She shrieked like a banshee. He muscley flesh burnt the blood curdled and she bent so far back it looked like she just broke her back. Bob had his hand over his mouth with tears streaming down his face. He was terrified because he had let this woman into his life with no knowledge of what she was. After ran into the forest he was hyperventilating because that night was so traumatizing. He had to make a plan to get rid of her.

After he went back to sleep he created a plan while Jenny went to the mall with her friends. He went back up to the attic and saw the blue paint on the floor. Right there it was like a lightbulb went off above his head.

That night when the clock struck 3:00 Jenny went upstairs to the attic and went through the same routine like she does every night. Bob waited and waited. The anticipation was killing him. When she got up in the attic bob went upstairs and grabbed a pale of the blue paint. He whipped open the door and he looked the monster dead in the eyes. He has a stare off and he is so embarrassed. Bob is so scared he throws the paint all over her. She screams in pain. As she runs down the side of the house bob drops more paint on her.

Finally, Bob thinks. He stays up the whole night painting the attic so Jenny can’t ever come back into the house again.

This piece is inspired by a story my friend Hannah told one night. The creature Jenny was is called a Boohag. A Boohag has no skin and like a vampire sucks the breath of their victims. They also take the skin and if they don’t get in the skin before dawn they are trapped like a Boohag forever and cannot wear skins. Here is a picture for reference of what the Boohag looks like.
